How many sessions are needed to complete an assessment?
After the initial session, the assessment process continues to unfold at your child’s pace. While some children may need a little more time to warm up or show us their full range of skills, many assessments are completed over two sessions.
What should I expect in the assessment sessions?
Your first session with us takes place via Telehealth for a parent only session.
We’ll start by having a relaxed conversation to learn more about your child’s development, communication, and social history. We’ll also take the time to understand your goals and hopes for your child—your insight helps to shape our approach.
The following sessions will take place in the comfort of your own home, where your child feels most at ease. During the session, we’ll complete a screening assessment through play and interaction to get a clear picture of your child’s current strengths and needs.
How many sessions will I need?
At The Sound Club, there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy. There’s no set number of sessions your child must attend—every child’s journey is unique. Some children benefit from just a few sessions to give them a gentle kick-start with their communication skills, while others may need more regular support over time. Once you’ve booked your first session, we reserve your spot at The Sound Club so you have continued access to sessions as needed. We’re here to support your family for as long as it’s helpful, with a flexible and personalised approach that grows with your child.
Pricing
All sessions at The Sound Club are charged at the current NDIS rate of $193.99 per hour. This allows us to provide high-quality, personalised support that meets NDIS standards. We charge a 30 minute travel fee for each appointment after the initial parent-only session.
Initial Parent Only Telehealth Session: $193.99
Home appointments (session + travel): $242.50
We may also complete other tasks to support your child to achieve their goals, however we will always ask you before we charge outside of sessions.
These tasks may include:
Resource making (e.g., home practice, session preparation)
Phone meetings with other professionals (e.g., Teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, support coordinators)
Consultation with assistive technology providers, if required.
Cancellation Policy
We know that life with kids can be unpredictable, and things come up! If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice incur the full session fee, as this time has been set aside just for your family. Thank you for understanding and helping us support all the families we work with.
How long are sessions?
The initial parent-only session is 1 hour in duration. Home sessions with The Sound Club are 45 minutes in duration.
